My passion in life is to help students succeed both academically and socially. With that being said, Sevier County has always been my home and where I wanted to be in my educational career. I graduated high school from Sevier County in 1992, and entered my career path beginning at Carson Newman College in the field of education. I graduated from Carson Newman in 1996 when I ended my student teaching at Seymour Primary and Seymour Middle Schools. This is when my desire to be in Seymour as a teacher began. I took a few years to work in my family’s business, but in1999, began my teaching career in third grade. I taught seven years in third grade before moving on to be the assistant principal at Seymour Intermediate for another seven years. In 2013, I became the principal at Jones Cove Elementary where I stayed for seven and a half years. In December of 2021, I became the principal at New Center Elementary where I stayed a year and a half. In July of 2022, I felt like I came home to Seymour Intermediate where I began. I am both blessed and excited to be back in the Seymour community and look forward to working with faculty and staff, students, and parents of our great school.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Carson-Newman College, a Master of Education Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.
